ABOUT DIGITOPOLIS is the name given to a major electronic music act performed by an ensemble of almost 40 people in sets of different electronic music branches (Programming and Live Coding, Bending, Djing and Turntabling, Synths, Visuals, Mobiles). This project is an initiative of Digitópia / Educational Service of Casa da Música Foundation.
Between March and September, several sessions were held for the creation of DIGITOPOLIS. During this period, I was responsible for gathering a group of people that could perform a visual act using a DIY concept. Two aspects were addressed: the performance / installation and the video projection.
For the installation part, a light controller box called 'Haja Luz' (Let there be Light) was developed by Rodrigo Carvalho, Maria Monica and Diogo Tudela.
The video projection part resulted in a movie called 'Estrangeirismos'. Concept, footage and editing by Mariana Gomes, Marta Pois and Sara Esteves.
